Statistics Approach

 

To make face decisions we need data, statistics helps us in collecting data and analyzing it reveal a trend and interpreting  and explaining the results and presenting the data . Statistics helps us in converting data into information which helps us in making decisions .  Descriptive statistics is the term given to the analysis of the data that helps summarized data in a meaningful way. Descriptive statistics however do not allow us to make conclusions beyond the data we have analyze. This is simply  a ways to describe a data while this statistic examine our immediate group of data . The Inferential on the other hand aim to make inferences in the data in order to make conclusions that go beyond this data in other words inferential statistics are used to make inferences about  the population from a sample in order to make predictions about the future.

The scientific method of a problem solving is a hypothesis-driven . One makes an educated  guess.  Experiments are conducted to test this test and ultimately reach  a conclusion that the guess or the hypothesis true or not. For example if your car does not start you make an educated guess that there is no petrol in the tank or in other words you make a hypothesis which he will later test using the data and reach a conclusion. Then finally you’ll be able to conclude that the petrol is the root why my car does not start.

There are 2 Variables  of data Types. Qualitative and Quantitative. The former is consist of categories with non-numeric characteristics for example red blue or white is the color of car. On the other hand Quantitative statistics is also known as numeric data is consisted with numbers that represents counts of measurements for example 5 books of 70 kilos.

Statistics, you use them everyday and perhaps you don’t realize them. The reality is statistics affects you and me and are vital to everything we do.
